Dartmoor in a day.

Another of my very favorite places.

High up on Dartmoor National Park.

When I say high, I mean high, it's an uphill walk.

Not a quacky duck in sight though. This is Haytor.
I know my Tors yer know !
Just like everyone to know. The two rescued quacky ducklings are fine and have settled into a new home with other ducks in my vet's garden pond.  Quite near to the river Dart at Totnes.

This is the river Dart, it gets wider as it flows from Dartmoor right down to the sea at Dartmouth.

Loads of moofs and darts to me.

It was a hot day.
At this point, I would have looked a bit stupid if I had turned back.
'Er, Cavalier and attitude, brave and fearless.

.

Why is it the water is always deeper on the way back ?

I haven't a clue why they laughed at me... I dried off as they kept opening the car windows on the way home... (after you had been towel dried. Freya you smell of river water).

The best part of the day wasn't getting wet..

There are lots and lots of new born foals on the moor at the moment. I know the shout when it goes up.

Ponies, ponies.

I still want one.. Luvs Freya Rose Blossom X

  1. You're cute, even wet. Love your new pic. I don't know the "tors", so I'll have to look it up.

  4. I thought of you yesterday when I saw in the paper a little newborn pony that had been abandoned by it's mum on Dartmoor...they gave him a giant teddy bear to keep him company in the stable. I thought perhaps you could take over nanny duties....
