Cavalier dog digs for fossils on Charmouth Beach in Dorset.

One of us has really lost the plot, another day of out and about.

Charmouth beach in Dorset today.

If anyone NOSE anything about Charmouth beach, they will know it's a great place for fossil hunting. It's not a bad diggin beach either.

It's not a great place to be when the cliff gives way. This part of the South West coastline changes day by day because of erosion from the sea. So SUM one told me.
Maybe the reason why I had the run of the beach but had to keep clear of the cliff.

Good views towards Lyme Bay. I don't think the diggin sand at Lyme is as good as Charmouth. Or is that because now it's Summer they have a dog ban on the beach at Lyme Bay ? No beach, no diggin.

Finding fossils can be an art, you have to nose what your looking for. This was sparkly and it was something, but it was also something too heavy to lift.

The heavy stuff gets taken along and put on display, That is one fair diggin nose that guy has there.

I'm never going to stop diggin, cos you never nose what you might find.

Haldon Forest

What am I looking at ?

There are some things you have to take your time looking at around here.

Too much looking often makes you sleepy.

Two new kittens around here and I nose they went down the storm drain.

Mole on the cliff.

When you spot something out of the ordinary, it's always best to take a moment or two to make sure your eye's aren't deceiving you.

On a cliff top, water on three sides.

Little soft mounds of earth.

Yep, definitely a mole problem.

Gordo

This is my new friend. Gordo came all the way from my friend young Tweedles.

It's no good having Gordo if he hasn't a clue how to dig a good sand hole.
I've been giving him a few lessons.

So far, so good.

Gordo will, in time make a star beach hole digger.

LUVS him.
Thank you young Tweedles  for sending me Gordo.
