Over to the light for healthy eating.

We all know the weight scales at my vets were totally wrong and broken during the week.
They didn't have to tell me to "get off tubby", that wasn't very polite.

Best paw forward, time to go shopping for something that isn't going to pile on the pounds.

There's so much choice, but I'm after something that is going to help me lose weight.

Sometimes after a bit of tugging at the wrappers you can try before you buy.

Some of the bags are sealed tightly. This bag had a few teeth marks already on it, I had to test this bag to make sure it was intact. Looked like someone had tried to suck out the contents.

We never did buy anything from this shelf, besides, some of the packets were a bit chewed.
No one wants to buy split packets of dog food or packets that looked as if they have been sucked and slobbered on.

We brought something called "light kibble and something else that is lean and tasty with reduced fat.

Nothing drastic, no big diet kick, just healthy eating.

  1. Glad nothing drastic is called for:) Us girls have to watch our figures.

  2. Our Lady use to call her one dog pleasantly plump when in the winter he put a little weight on (usually over the winter). We hope the new food tastes good and with a little exercise the vets scale will be working again.

  3. Tubby???? Surely they were not talking to YOU!!! Mom has to keep watch on Ciara's weight so she adds green beans to a reduced amount of kibble. Lightning gets some too just because he likes them. They are good for us and help to fill us up without a lot of calories. Now Phantom could use all the calories he can get - we would love to have someone call him Tubby:)

    Have a great weekend.

  7. Your very wise to watch your waist line missy - they creep up fast on Cavaliers. In the winter I need to adjust my guys down due to less walks. I cut them back but to fill their tummies and fool them into thinking they ate more, I give them green beans or squash. Pretty girl!

  8. Oh gurl, likes I told you, those scales at the vettie are WRONG!!! The ones at my vettie say I'm a tubby tub-tubs, butts i say ..... pfffffft!!!! I've been on the diet kibbles all my life, cause the high fibers are good for my digestion, butts I still am tubby!!! Ma thinks Gpa is slippin' me goodies without her knowin'....shhhhh. She even had the vettie check my thyroid, butts that was okays. So, I guess she has to watch me and Gpa more closely...poo

  9. Hi Freya! Let us tell you something! You look pawtastic!

Ok.. this is just between you and me Momo who had a bit of weight issues. Mom has given me very healthy food (lots of veggies to stuff me for example) and I am now back to normal.

Your human friend is so cute!!

  12. We have heard that adding green beans to your kibble or adding organic pumpkin to your kibble gives you a "filled up" feeling, Freya. You are NOT tubby! How rude.

    Love ya lots♥

  15. We like Zukes treats (they are low calorie). Then we just try to minimize extra snacking, take walks, and portion control!!

  16. You're not tubby, you are just well upholstered, like me! If only I had someone to feed me light & fat free food, dogs have it easy!
