Guillemot Rescued by Cat Flap Cavalier on South Devon Beach.

Back on the beach and guess who we met...

It was a hard choice, stone, ponies or dig a new hole in the sand.

Instead we started to toddle off along the beach, leaving the ponies behind.

Laying on the sand by the water line was a bird, a big bird. I went over and it never moved. I stood there, mum put away the camera, grabbed her scarf from around her neck.
DRAMA.
Dogs and horses on the beach and the bird wouldn't move, it just sat there.
Dad wrapped up the bird in mum's scarf, it gave Dad a couple of pecks on his hand.
We walked back the way we had come, past four more ponies coming down onto the beach.Dad carried the bird back to the car and they wrapped it my dog towel.

We then took it to the nearest vet. Never even parked the car, Dad got out and hurried the bird inside.

One safe sea bird on it's way to a wild bird rescue center to recover.

Many sea birds have been found on our beaches over the last few weeks. Some of them have been covered in oil from ships or totally exhausted because they have had to fight to survive in the storms we have had.

Bird rescue can be a tiring job. You can't save them all, but if you can save one, the drama is worth it.

Wall walking.

I'm quite good at somethings.

Wall walking is one of them.

If there is a wall, I can walk it.

Forwards or backwards, I can go both ways.

I do sometimes have a safety harness, just in case.

I'm really good at is digging on the beach, everyone knows that.

I'm great at leaning into the bends when I'm in the car and it goes around a corner.

I'm a brilliant cat sitter.

I'm top notch at watching the rain and rising water levels.

An all round good dog really.

Flood watching Cat Flap Cavalier.

No time to untangle my ears, I'm watching the rising water levels today.

The water keeps rising and it keeps raining.

Prince William and Prince Harry are helping with sandbags.

Not down here though. Besides, mum and dad have got me to help out.

With all the excitement of the morning, I nearly forgot to wish everyone a
Happy ST VALENTINE'S DAY.

Auntie Mel and me

/

You know what it's like, happy days, everything is going along really well and THEN !

A name is mentioned and you think, AH !

Your smile drops and you think, hum.....

You try to recover that pose, yet you think.. hum..

Auntie Mel.

Now before anyone thinks anything different, I like Auntie Mel.

Auntie Mel hasn't been well, I know that, that is why I gave her loads of kisses to start with.

Smarty paws ?

NO ONE LAUGH, cos Auntie Mel let me keep a trimmed up version of my long ears. She also gave my legs my feather's back and I still have my Cavalier tail.

This is the before look with my long ears. Why are my ears so wavey?

It's the beach and the soft water that we have...........

Wiv me new look I will 'ave to 'ave a coat to go outside, but me claws and paws are trim, being  a Cavalier, we are all royalty anyway, just a shame I seem's to 'ave picked up me mum and dad's accent.
Luv's me auntie Mel who keeps me trim .

How to address a parcel to Russia

Sniffin around the water's edge at the Quays in Exeter, Russia seems a very long way away.

No games going on around here today.

Although on the other side of the bridge, it's where the swans hang out waiting to be fed, I normally have to make a detour to get the coffee shop, it's always a game trying to get past the swans.

There are some strange conversations going on while waiting for the coffee to come.

So, let me get this right, if I sent a parcel or card to Russia, I would have to put the address backwards.
If I had mail back would it be addressed to Cavalier Flap Cat.
